Nestled in the heart of beautiful downtown Fox, Alaska, Silver Gulch has been serving up exceptional craft beer and house-made dishes since 1998. As Alaska's 3rd oldest brewery — and the northernmost brewery in the United States — we're proud to be a cornerstone of the Fairbanks area.
Founded by two lifelong Alaskans, Glenn Brady and Chilkoot Ward, our brewery is deeply tied to the land and the community we serve — a celebration of the bold, adventurous spirit of Alaska.
Handcrafted, bold beers made with the purest Alaskan spring water.
Delicious house-made dishes that celebrate Alaskan ingredients and flavors.
Unbeatable atmosphere in the heart of Fox, with stunning views and a welcoming beer garden.
Family-owned by lifelong Alaskans, with deep ties to the local community.
Spacious event venues perfect for weddings, parties, or corporate gatherings.
Two locations — Fox and Anchorage — so Silver Gulch is never far from your travels.
Our story ties back to the land, the gold rush, and the tough, resilient folks who've called Fox home.

Felix Pedro strikes gold at Pedro Creek and the rush is on. People flood in, and Fox — once a quiet outpost — turns into a lively mining camp. It even outgrows Fairbanks for a time, with its own post office from 1908 to 1947.
Max Redé Mercantile stands through it all — a general store supplying miners and locals with everything from food to cigars and liquor.
The old mercantile is expanded and transformed into the Fox Roadhouse — a much-needed pit stop for travelers heading out to Circle, Central, and Livengood along rough dirt roads.
Glenn Brady's grandmother, Darlene Brown, takes over the Roadhouse and gives it new life with a massive expansion: a 30,000 sq. ft. bar, restaurant, and dance hall.
Glenn buys the building from his grandmother and starts turning part of it into a brewery — named after the Silver Gulch artesian spring just down the road, the source of the pure, crisp water in every batch.
The first batch is brewed, and Silver Gulch becomes the northernmost brewery in the United States.
Free Beer Fridays put us on the map. On-site sales were illegal back then, but free samples weren't — so every Friday evening, folks from all over Goldstream Valley stopped by to sip fresh brews, swap stories, and kick off the weekend right.
The Fox Roadhouse closes its doors, and plans are set in motion to renovate the place.
State law changes — small breweries like ours can finally sell beer on-site.
After a major renovation, the new pub opens: seating for 150 below, and another 250 upstairs for banquets and events.
Our sister restaurant opens at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, Concourse C.
The Fox Gulch House still stands at the heart of the brewery — from the brewing floor you can look up and see the historic building that's part of our legacy. Gritty, authentic, and full of heart.
Food and beer are just the beginning. Our Fox location offers breathtaking views of the Alaskan wilderness and an outdoor beer garden open in summer — sip a cold pint surrounded by the beauty of the Last Frontier. Inside, our versatile event rooms handle everything from intimate celebrations to full-scale weddings and corporate gatherings.
Take a peek behind the pint: join us for a brewery tour or beer dinner, and see how Silver Gulch brews bold flavor into every glass.
The beer garden stays comfortable even when the Last Frontier acts like it.
